WHY I AM RUNNING FOR ALAMEDA SCHOOL BOARD
As an AUSD parent and active PTA leader for more than 5 years, I deeply understand Alameda’s education system and the challenges facing students and their families. I have been an LGBTQ+ family and youth advocate for the last 20 years. For the last decade, I have been an advocate for foster youth and adoption. I have seen a great deal of positive change for our students, teacher/staff and families. I am running for Alameda Unified School District trustee to ensure that the forward momentum continues because there is more work that needs to be done.
A BOLD VOICE FOR BETTER OUTCOMES
I will be a bold voice that does the homework, asks thoughtful questions and brings ideas to the table to create better outcomes for ALL the students we serve. I consistently attend board and sub-committee meetings, and I have an adept understanding of the district's complex budget and operational functions. I have, and will continue to remain focused on how our schools build success for all our students’ futures. I will drive the board to have better communication with families, I will champion our arts and vocational programs, and I will continue to build equitable & inclusive programming. It is critical that we have a school board that works to build stronger schools, retain quality teachers and ensures that school is a safe and inclusive haven for growth and learning. I hope I can earn your vote on November 8th.
